August and September 2006 News

Patch Day is this Thursday, August 17th! Check out the thread on the forums to see the teaser images and read the Letter to the Players and the Teaser Article. Aside from the free level for last month's downtime, there are several other long-desired improvements including increasing the pyreal stack size to 25k! There is also discussion about the inclusion of pets in coming patches. At first, these will be purely decorative (ie, absolutely useless except for aesthetics), but if things go well, we might see support pets soon.

The Allegiance Tree is finally back! It's not as pretty or as functional as it used to be back when ACGM and Bandit Monarch still worked, but at least we have an accurate listing of who is sworn to whom. I will attempt to update the tree once a month or so - the process takes 30 seconds per character sworn into the monarchy, so it is very time consuming. Check The Tree out!
The big news this week is that during the August event, every character will have the opportunity to receive a special pack doll. If you like, you can then turn that pack doll in for a full level's worth of experience. There is a limit of one pack doll per character, so you won't be able to pass your mules' dolls to your main character. Of course, you will be able to collect the dolls and trade them in if you don't care about getting your level 5 mule to level 6. Aside from that, the details and date of the August patch have not yet been announced. It probably will not be for at least two weeks though. In the mean time, Grael will most likely continue to rampage - be careful where you leave those mules!
I've made minor changes to the Quest Section and to My Guide, but nothing really major. This month's quests don't have maps available yet, but they are relatively simple to navigate so I may have guides for those two soon. Both the Dark Isle and Asheron's Island are absolute death traps that should be avoided unless you are an extreme level or you have lots of death items to spare.
