December 2005 News

Merry Christmas! I'll be away until the 26th, so I'll see everyone then. Expect a public Augmentation trip at some point during the week between Christmas and New Year's. I'll be available most of that week, so we'll probably have a good number of impromptu quests.

The December Patch, "Through Sacrifice, Strength" is up! The Patch Thread on our boards has the LttP, Teaser, Rollout Article, and Dev Notes for your convenience. The Viamontians have withdrawn from most of Glendon Wood, but the effects of their attack linger on. Several staging points remain in Glendon's outskirts. Yanshi has finally been rebuilt, better than ever! The Viamontians are literally trying to undermine the city though, so you may wish to help the townsfolk out. Pay your respects to Antius Blackmoor while you are in town.
The Quest Section is now updated to include the new quests this month (the ones I know about, anyway). I also need to investigate whether the Glendon Wood Defenders quest can still be done, now that the invaders have retreated. Don't forget about the Quest Database!
Because of how Christmas is falling this year, I won't be able to run any Saturday quests for the next couple of weeks. However, I should have a lot of free time the week between Christmas and New Year's, so look for quests then.
Last, but not least, a tradebot program for Decal is finally available, so I will soon be putting the contents of some of the mansion chests up for sale to offset the costs of the mansion. If you haven't done so recently, check out the SW chest in the chest room - it's full of majors and imbued weapons, useful and otherwise. The mansion is well-stocked with writs and cash, but we could always use more!

Patch day has been tentatively slated for next Tuesday, the 20th of December. The Letter to the Players, Teaser, Rollout Article, and Dev Notes are all still pending, but I'll add links to them when they are released. If you are planning on making changes to your characters' skills, grab a gem before the patch! December's patch will change the spec/untrain gem system substantially (for the better!), but it would be wise to get a final gem in before the patch.
Good work on Harby last weekend and apologies to everyone I managed to kill. I have an early Christmas event to attend this Saturday, so I don't think I'll be able to run any quests that day. In all likelihood, Taomagicdragon will be running public Burun King quests (4, 5, and 6) Sunday, so we'll have quests to keep us busy. Failing that, Elyria needs his Aerlinthe scroll.
Last and least, I've changed one of the links in the navigation frame. The 'Events' link used to point to an off-site calendar that I haven't used since I added the forum calendar months ago. Because it is somewhat confusing, I've redirected the 'Events' link to the forum calendar. Most of you probably won't even notice the difference.

Two Harbinger trips this weekend - check the boards for specifics. I do have a limited number of Harby items, but probably not the one you want. I'll post exactly what I have on the quest thread Thursday or so.
I've also added a Monarchy Resources thread to the forums for everyone's convenience. Some of it details the portals and magical devices at the mansion, but the most important part (I think) is the trade character listing. Although the ACGM tree is still up and some of you have listed your characters' skills there, that tree is hopelessly out of date and the likelihood of the Link plugin returning ever is pretty low. It would also be easier to refer to the sticky thread than go looking through ACGM. If you have a trade character and are willing to help other Paladins out, please send me a PM on the boards or email me with your character's abilities and what their buffed skills are. I will try to keep it updated!
A couple other quick items - Turbine will stop paying rent on housing with the end of the year. The mansion is very well stocked with writs and cash - at least 7 months' worth - so nothing to worry about there. Also, Turbine has extended their migration system until after the New Year - it was supposed to end today. If you still have an old, un-migrated account, better migrate soon if you ever want to log it in again. December's patch is also on schedule, so expect that in about two weeks or so.
Last, but not least, welcome to Asellion Darksbane, who just joined us last weekend!
