October 29, 2007 -
I'm going for a record of news updates this month! Congrats to everyone on our Dark Harbinger trip. Little did I realize that that quest doesn't offer the 2 points of skill, so we did Hard Harby directly afterwards! I think from now on, we'll just do Hard Harby every month or so - Dark Harby just isn't worth the effort. It was worth doing once though. Also nice work to Wulf, Silver, and Ely for killing Death Tail and starting their Mhoire coin collection. Sure, we died a lot in the process, but that horrible rat finally got what was coming to him. Death Tail is one of those quests that we should be doing over and over again as often as possible (every 3 days!), so expect more impromptu runs in the future.
The Overtink is still coming up this Sunday. Sarah will be awfully close to completely maxing out MI Tink! As it stands now, her MI Tink skill is maxed and her focus is 1 point away. Kickem is making progress, but she will still be pretty far from maxed, although she is making progress. At some point, I should track down a couple more tesserae for her.
I would also like to get another Paradox Queen quest together soon. I'm looking at the weekend of the 10th and 11th, but I'm especially interested in getting Silver, Wulf, and Sephira through the quest, since you three couldn't make the last trip. If you could either talk to me or leave a post with your preferred times, I'll plan a trip.
I've finished a couple new quest guides as well, including one for the Dark Harbinger.

I've scheduled the Dark Harbinger quest for 5 PM ET, Sunday October the 28th. Dark Harby has more steps involved and I'm concerned that we won't be able to do it without at least one full fellow. The quest will be public, which hopefully means people will decide to show up. Make sure you have your Harby items in advance!
Another reminder that the Overtink is coming soon! I've been turning in tesserae with Sarah and Kickem over the last couple weeks, so their skills are a in a bit of a flux at the moment, so please refer to the overtink thread to find out what kind of success rates you can expect. Sarah will be almost exactly at the skill listed and Kickem will be a couple points better.
I finally managed to acquire the last magical item for the mansion we were missing - the Statue of Gladiator Diemos. It's presently in the SW room on the second floor. Have a look for yourself!
I've added a couple quest guides for some of the new quests.

This patch is probably the best we've had in over a year! Tons of content, including a fascinatingly weird quest into Claude the Virindi Archmage's head. The only drawback - the Undead Sailor Costume isn't ingame yet.
Congrats to everyone who did the Paradox Queen with me yesterday. We had a couple deaths, but everyone who started the quest finished it and no one died to the Queen! I was very, very pleased with how things worked out. Those of you who could make it - I do want to run another trip in the somewhat near future. Next week our Harby timers should be up, so start looking for your Harby item! I'm thinking we might try the new Dark Harby quest if I can get a little more info.
Overtink is still slated for November 4th, so I hope you're been collecting your salvage!

Patch Day is actually today - server instability problems forced the devs to push the patch back a day. The patch should be live by 3 PM ET this afternoon. I've changed the Quest Section like usual and will add new quest info when it's available. I've also decorated the mansion a little bit to reflect the change in season. No more flowers - just zombies!
A couple PoA news items - it's been some time since I posted the overtink request poll and it does seem like people do have gear they want to tinker. I'm going to set the date for the first Sunday in November, the 4th. That will give everyone over two weeks to get their salvage together. Kickem and Sarah's skills have improved a bit since the last overtink, so you should expect a slightly higher success rate on those final tinks. The game is down as I write this, so I can't post success rates at the moment, but I will have a list together this evening or tomorrow at the latest. I am expecting to at least do weapon and armor sessions, but if people have an interest in a Magic Item overtink, I have plenty of rares. If you want to donate any extra weapon, armor, or MI rares, or more importantly, a strength, endurance, or focus rare, please let me know. Check out the overtink thread for more details.
I am still planning for a Paradox Queen quest this weekend, most likely Saturday. The time is still TBA - I want to make sure as many people who are interested can attend. Expect a finalized time tomorrow. This quest will be public, so if you have friends elsewhere, please feel free to invite them. You will need an Olthoi Gland if you don't already have one. Fortunately, that's no longer a big challenge. Refer to the announcement thread for more details or to let me know when you are available.
I've also started a new quest request thread. Lately people have just been asking ingame and that's fine, but if you do have a request, please post away.

Patch Day is tomorrow, Tuesday the 16th! Check out the patch thread for links to the articles and images. It's time for Halloween again, so there are sure to be new masks and costumes.
The Paradox Queen quest will supposedly be fixed with the patch, so I'd like to get a trip together. I will have time this weekend and am shooting for the 20th during the afternoon. If you want to go, leave a post on the boards and tell me your preferred time. Hopefully we'll be able to field a good core of PoA people, but I'm certain we'll need to recruit outside help for this one. If you haven't already, you'll need to track down an Paradox Olthoi Gland, which drop on any of the adult varieties that spawn in a valley in the SW mountains of the Olthoi North. They aren't easy to take down, so if you need help, leave a post too and we'll try to get a hunting party together later this week. The drop rate is much, much higher now, so we should be able to outfit the whole monarchy in an hour or two. Check out the quest guide for specifics.

Since the servers are down for maintenance, I figured I might as well update the news page. Congratulations to everyone who went with me on the (old) Hard Harbinger! I'm the only Paladin who managed to die (and I died very effectively), but nevertheless everyone including me successfully completed the quest. Excellent work, all!
I've completed my quest guide for the Mukkir Aspect of Grael, after fine tuning it on the actual quest Saturday. Grael was kind enough to give me a Weapon Tink rare too, which got me wondering if any of you were in need of an overtink session. I've posted a poll (and yes, I can actually change the featured poll again, thanks to the database move!), so please vote!
