Arcane Pedestal and the Map of Dereth

Looking for some interesting decorations for your house?  Although this quest doesn't really offer any useful items, it does give you a large decorative Map of Dereth for your wall and a replica of interesting Empyrean technology.  Completing this quest will require you to visit the Gelidite Library to collect an item there.

To start, visit Slithe Traddior at 3.8N, 44.9E, which is outside of Lytelthorpe.  This guy is a shady character... don't turn your back on him!  He will give you a note and a special imaging crystal.  Now it's time to find the Precarious Sojourn portal, which is located at 2.3N, 0.9W at the end of a rope bridge.  Head into the portal and you will end up on a platform high above the Valley of Death!  Fight your way toward the large floating tower in the distance, killing Undead followers of the Blood.  There are a couple jumps you will need to make, but they are not technically difficult - just be careful where you aim.  Once you reach the tower, climb up it.  At the very top, you will find a large Empyrean artifact - use your imaging crystal on it to imprint its design.  Also near the top of the tower, in a small anteroom, is Alatar Locke, the famous explorer.  Greet him and he will present you with an Unframed Map of Dereth.  Once you have the imprinted crystal and your map, it's time to leave.

Head back to Slithe and give him your crystal.  He will ask you for a Gelidite Dais from the Labyrinth in Nuhmudira's prison.  Give him one and he will give you a list of parts he needs to complete your replica.  They are:  a gear from a Reedshark Statue, a coil from a Sclavus Statue, and a spring from a Skeleton Statue.  That means you will have to go into the Foundry portals in various towns and kill a whole lot of Statues.  The Gear comes from the Mannikin Foundry in any of the 9 starter towns.  The Coil comes from the Effigy Foundry, in the towns of Al-Jalima, Eastham, Glendon Wood, Khayyaban, Lin, Tou Tou, Uziz, or the three Capitals.  For the Spring, travel to the Mammet Foundries in Arwic, Baishi, MacNiall's Freehold, Mayoi, Plateau, Sawato, Stonehold, or Tufa.  Every statue in these dungeons can drop a trophy, so make sure you pick up the trophies from the appropriate statue.  Once you have all three, return to Slithe and give him the trophies.  He will give you your Arcane Pedestal once he has all the necessary items.

Take your map to Jordan Ibn'Ikia in the Agent of the Arcanum's house in Zaikhal.  He will accept it, saying he needs some wood to frame it.  You can buy wood from the Woodsmen located just outside of  Holtburg and Glendon Wood.  Return to Jordan, give him the wood, and he will return your framed Map!
