Catacombs of Opposition

With the arrival of the Ancient Olthoi Queen, Queen Elysa sent guards to investigate the existing Olthoi Hives in Dereth.  To their shock, they discovered that all of the hives were now connected through a series of tunnels.  In the deepest recesses, they found a small band of Isparians.  These poor souls had been stuck inside the Catacombs of Opposition for over 15 years, fighting a never-ending battle against the Olthoi.  Their time in the Catacombs has taught them to make weapons out of Otlhoi pieces, which you can now make too!

Step 1:  Preparation.  Before you begin, head to your local armorer and weaponsmith.  Buy a plain Quarterstaff and Leather Gloves. There are seven ways to reach the Catacombs, each with a different degree of difficulty.  Pick a dungeon that best matches your skills.  The 7 dungeons (with locations, level restrictions, and XP rewards) are:

Lair of Death - 42N, 58.1E, 15+, 50,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs

Olthoi Horde Nest (Colier) -55.8N, 43.5E, 20+, 100,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs

Crater Lair - 70.6N, 12.7E, 30+, 150,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs

Olthoi Horde Nest (Bandit Castle) - 64.3N, 52.8E, 30+, 200,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs

Olthoi Horde Nest (Stonehold) - 48.9N, 12.9W, 30+, 250,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs

Olthoi Tunnels - 48.1N, 53E, 40+, 500,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs

Black Death Catacombs - 59.9N, 71.2E, 40+, 750,000 XP to Deeper Catacombs.

Step 2:  Olthoi Dungeons.  Buff up!  Olthoi buffs are a bludgeoning or piercing weapon, pierce, slash, and acid banes and protects.  Fight your way through the first dungeon to find a portal into the Deeper Catacombs.  If you are going through the Lair of Death, be sure to pick up the note just outside the portal.

Step 3:  Deeper Catacombs.  The deeper catacombs are more difficult dungeons, filled with higher level Olthoi than the previous dungeon you've fought through.  Be sure to pick up the note near the portal into the next section - the Catacombs of Opposition.

Step 4:  Catacombs of Opposition.  You have two goals in this section of the quest - reach the settlement and collect Olthoi trophies.  If you want all 4 weapons, you will need to collect:

Olthoi Axe:  Crest and Quarterstaff - from Narg

Olthoi Atlatl:  Femur and Stab Claw - from Pincer Danta

Olthoi Katar:  Crest and Leather Gauntlets - from Nanoc, Basher of Bugs

Olthoi Spear:  Long Claw - from Teela

Soldiers drop Femurs, Guards drop Stab Claws, Advance Guards drop Crests (you need 2!), and Vanquishers drop Long Claws.

As soon as you enter the Catacombs, you will be swarmed by a lot of Olthoi Soldiers.  Kill them all and start looting.  Head west and down the ramps you see.  Hug the right wall as you head down and you will come to a large room.  In the middle, you'll find a ramp down.  Again, hug the right wall and you will reach the Settlement.  Before you continue searching for your trophies, head up the stairs and into the main settlement.  Find Scout Luzumin Agigwei and greet him - he will give you an note in exchange.  Now that you have your notes, head back into the previous section, where you will find three exits in addition to the one you came through earlier.  The south exit takes you back to the Soldier area.  The southeast exit takes you to a section filled with Guards.  The northwest section takes you to a section filled with Advance Guards and Warriors.  The north path takes you to the most difficult section, filled with Swarm Eviscerators, Guardians, Mutilators, and Vanquishers.  Once you've recovered all the trophies you need, return to the settlement, find the appropriate NPC, and give him the trophies.  When you are done hunting, head to Cragstone.  Find the Royal Guard at 25.6N, 48.8E and give him your notes.  The note from the Scout in the Catacombs is worth 2.5% of your level.
