Thorsten Cragstone was killed by the Olthoi Queen in PY 0, leaving Elysa a single mother. Learn more about Elysa and explore the hidden crypt where Cragstone's armor and axe are stored.
Step 1: Lost Sister. Head to Cragstone and locate Glysander Cartoth, who lives on the second floor of the building at 25.7N, 48.5E. Greet him and he will give you a pair of notes and send you off in search of her old correspondence with Queen Elysa. He had a man named Brontynn Marshad collect some notes, so head to Eastham to find him. His cottage is just south of town at 15.3N, 65.7E. Locate the key on the ground and use it on the locked chest inside. There are two notes in the chest for you to pick up. One of the notes directs you to head to Imuth Maer Doquin, an ancient ruin between Lytelthorpe and Yanshi located at 10.3S, 57.6E. Brontynn is there, but he's been captured by Tumeroks! Kill the Gladiators outside and find a key on one of their corpses. Use it to open the Tower's door. Give Brontynn the Certificate of Permission that Glysander gave you back in Cragstone and he will give you a pair of notes. Now you have to make a decision as to which quest reward you want. If you want a replica of Cragstone's axe, head to Tou Tou and find Tai Wo. If you'd prefer a replica of Cragstone's armor, go to Baishi instead and find Lia Tze at 49.4S, 62.4E. Either way, greet the person and you will get a copy of another letter to Elysa and some moulding wax. Now that you have the wax, it's time to go to Cragstone's Tomb inside the Underground City.
Step 2: Underground City. Conveniently, there is a portal directly into the Underground City at the bottom of Subway. The Underground City is a maze and it is easy to get lost. Fortunately, the monsters inside are very low level, so even if you do get lost, you won't die. The above map has the path through the dungeon marked with a blue arrow, so I won't bother with giving directions. Once you reach Cragstone's tomb, you will have to find the false wall in the northwest section of the room. Run through and enter the portal at the bottom of the ramps.
Step 3: Hidden Dungeon. This dungeon is filled with Golems and Undead, so buff a bludgeoning and fire weapon. It's probably not worth your effort to bane, but do put up all the protection spells. From the drop, jump down and head straight through the first intersection. Pass through the next large room and you'll reach a Y intersection. If you are traveling with a group, take them to the left and hug the right wall. You'll come to a lever door. Leave your group here and head back the way you came to the Y intersection. Take the south exit and you will come through another large room. There is a lever at the far end. Pull it and race back to your group by hugging the right wall. A group member can prop the door open for you if you are a bit slow. After you are through the door, turn right at the next intersection and head down a ramp into a larger room. Make your way to the east and down the ramp. There are several turns here and there, but so long as you keep going south, you will reach the end. The final room is large, with the entry point above the ground. Right by the entrance is a skeleton - it's Elysa's friend Lania Cartoth. Check her skeleton for a final note. Past her skeleton is Cragstone's Axe and Armor. Use your wax on the appropriate item to make a model of it. Head out.
Step 4: Conclusions. There are a couple loose ends to tie up. Take your notes back to Cragstone and give them to Glysander. He will give you 45,000 total experience for the notes you've collected. Now take your wax mould to whichever crafter you chose to get your final reward. Cragstone's armor isn't functional, but it does make a great decoration (or a death item, since it's worth 100,000 pyreals and weighs only 50 BU). Cragstone's Axe is more useful (slightly). It's a decent weapon for any axe character who is level 20 but doesn't have 250 base axe yet. Or you can hang it on your house. It's a nice looking double blade.
