The Arcanum seeks to be able to replicate Asheron's magic and create lifestones of our own!  Although they lack the ability to replicate the great spell that powers the Lifestones, they do have the ability to build new ones.  However, they need our help to gather the materials.

Step 1:  Dark Tree Crystals.  Begin your quest by heading to Glendon Wood and find Nuhmudira's Student at 29.8N, 27.1E.  He will ask you to recover Dark Tree Crystals from a compound near Danby's Outpost.  The easiest way to get there is to head to Zaikhal and run to the Danby's Outpost portal at 16.7N, 1.7W.  From there, run to the mine at 24.8N, 31.3W.  You will find yourself in the middle of the dungeon as you arrive.  Inside are Golems ranging from Granite through Magma.  Bane physical and frost, protect against everything.  Your goal inside is to find Crystal Chests, which are located in the northwest and southeast sections of the dungeon.  You can either use the map above or just fight your way through randomly - the dungeon is laid out in such a way that you will eventually come to the chests.  You will know you are close when you come to an exit portal.  Use the chest and grab a Dark Tree Crystal.

Step 2:  Valara Crystals.  Recall to Subway and take the surface exit.  Run due east to the Mountain Shortcut and enter the portal there.  From the drop, run due east again to Lartorous, another of Nuhmudira's students, located at 42.6N, 62.4E.  Greet him and he will summon a portal for you.  Inside you will see Aun Talamura.  Give him your Dark Tree Crystal and you will earn 600,000 experience.  He will then ask you to recover Valara Crystals from the Warehouse's Annex.   This is another Golem dungeon, so you won't have to change your buffs.  It's a maze and a pretty windy one at that.  From the drop, hug the right wall and you will make your way through the first floor (filled with Iron Golems) and down a ramp to the second floor.  Keep on the right wall and you will shortly come to another ramp down to the third floor and into a large room filled with Iron and Glacial Golems.  Now hug the left wall.  You will head down another ramp and start encountering Obsidian Golems.  If you keep hugging the left wall, you will reach the end (although you will come to a couple dead ends - just follow the left wall).  Just before the end, you will come to a series of small square rooms filled with Obsidian Golems.  Head down the final ramp and you will come to the Excavation level.  Here you will find several Obsidian Excavation Golems - kill these and check their corpses for the Valara Crystals.  These drop at a high rate, so you will likely find one before you reach the end.  Continue against the left wall and you will find a passageway up to to the exit portal.  Don't leave until you have the Valara Crystal!  When you do, take the exit portal back to the Warehouse.

Step 3:  Dark Deeds.  You will return to the warehouse to find it destroyed!  Aun Talamura is lying on the ground injured.  Give him your crystal and he will give you 800,000 XP and ask you to chase down the villain who attacked the warehouse.  Take the surface portal.

Step 4:  Misty Mine.  Instead of finding yourself in the Lost Wish range, you will materialize inside a mine filled with bright mist.  There is another person there too - a fellow collector who is too scared to proceed.  Be brave!  Inside are Mist and Nubilous Golems, so buff a frost weapon and make sure your lightning and fire protects are still up.  This dungeon is practically impossible to navigate because it's almost impossible to tell where you are due to all the white fog.  Your best bet is to hug either the right or left wall.  You will come to several dead ends either way, but it beats getting hopelessly lost in the mist.  You will eventually come to a ledge - jump down!  The lower level is filled with Nubilous Golems, so be careful if you are vulned.  You are again looking for crystal chests , so make your way to the southwest, killing as you go.  Use the [ and ] keys to find the chests.  When you do find one, grab a crystal from it and leave.  Take the Unknown Crystal with you to Glendon Wood and give it to the Student where you started the quest for your last reward - 900,000 XP.  That makes a total of 2.3 Million for the quest - not bad for a 40+ quest.
