Dark Bobo is one of Aerbax's many Prodigal creatures. Queen Elysa's forces broke the hold Aerbax's Tusker Simulacra Mudmouth had over Bobo before it was too late, forcing Mudmouth and his Dark Bobo creation to flee. Now they live in a cave at the very fringes of Aphus Lassel, waiting for their chance to take over the Tusker Throne...
Step 1: Preparation. This quest is a quick one, provided you have enough people to fight with you. The real problem is getting to Mudmouth's dungeon. It's located at the very southern tip of Bobo's island, at 14.9S 86.0E. You can run from the Aphus Lassel recall point, but that's a really long trip! Your best bet is to use the Dangerous Portal Device, which drops you much closer. An alternative is to use the yellow Tusker Isle portal gems that Jonas in the Painbringer quest occasionally hands out. You will also need a team for this one. Both Mudmouth and Dark Bobo have a lot of health and can hit you very hard. Mudmouth also spawns hollow friends, so make sure your armor has actual AL (ie, no Perfect Light armor!). Melees and archers should bring AR fire weapons.
Step 2: Whispering Caverns. Once you arrive at the cave (it's well camouflaged - look for the big rock), go down and enter the portal. Now it's time to buff. You'll primarily be fighting Tuskers, but you will have to dispatch a couple Virindi Paradoxes too. Melees and archers should buff their AR fire weapons (composite bows are fine). When you are ready, head into the dungeon. You'll notice from the map that the dungeon is quite small, which is good. Once you reach the second ramp, stop. You want to fight Mudmouth first, preferably without Dark Bobo. That means you need to lure Mudmouth up to you on the ramp. Do your best. You absolutely do not want to fight Dark Bobo first and you don't want to fight in the large room at the bottom of the ramp because you want to fight a minimum number of creatures at once. Dark Bobo will also quickly respawn when you kill him, whereas Mudmouth will not. Mudmouth is particularly nasty. He will use very strong debuffs against you and summon friends. His nastiest friends are Imps, which are little coconut-throwing shadow Tuskers. Their coconuts are hollow (or possibly typeless - I need to check that) and when they die, they cast a heavy-hitting ring spell that can easily kill a melee if he gets too close. Virindi Paradoxes will also show up too, who probably won't kill anyone, but will still pose some problems. Once you kill Mudmouth, have everyone loot a Tusker Paw from his corpse. Once everyone has a paw, kill Dark Bobo. He's much easier to dispatch, but he still has a lot of health. When he dies, grab a title token from his corpse. When everyone has both rewards, go back up the ramp and hit the portal on the right.
Step 3: Rewards. You will find two statues by the exit from Mudmouth's lair. Each of these is really a vendor and the paw you looted is a coin. You can choose to buy one of three items - a Tusker Skull Helm, a Tusker Bone Sword, or a Tusker Paw Wand. The wand is particularly nice as it's the only Tusker Slayer in the game. The helm is decent too, but whatever you do, don't talk to the real Bobo while wearing it! He will not be amused. If you don't want any of these items, buy one anyway and go back to Oolutanga's Refuge, the drop point for Aphus Recall. In the treetop walk behind you is Jilna Fullgood. Give her your title token and you will be awarded 50M XP, 12,000 Luminance, and the title Prodigal Tusker Slayer (the first killers got the title Mudmouth's Bane too). If you didn't want your Tusker item, give it to her. You will receive a % XP reward capping at around 200M for a level 200 character. The rewards are all ivoryable, so you could ivory them up, hand them to another character, and get the reward that way.
