Xikma, and Fiun Crown
Remember tracking down Fiun Lunnum's thief? It had a rather unconvincing ending, what with the Viamontian you were sent to kill pleading his innocence to his last breath? It seems that there's been a breakthrough in the case! Now you can find out what really happened and put an end to the true thief's twisted plot.
Step 1: Preparation. You will need to do the first two quests involving Fiun Lunnum (Her Robe and Tracking Her Thief). The flagging process for this quest is now permanent, so if you've done the Robe and Thief quests after the change (at this point, over a year ago), you are flagged. To verify your flag, go to the Fiun Outpost and talk to Fiun Layeel. If he tells you to go help Fiun Gaya, you aren't flagged. If not, you're set. If you are running the flagging quests with a group, it will take you some time. You will need to camp the Viamontian at the end of the second quest until everyone has his emblem. There are some slightly new mechanics with regard to getting your medallion though. I recommend you choose one sacrificial lamb to kill the Viamontian each time. The reason behind that strategy is because you will receive bonus XP if you didn't kill him when you complete the third phase of this quest. When everyone has completed the second quest, you should grab some portal ties. You will need to visit the Fiun Outpost a few times, so grabbing that portal would be very helpful. If everyone doesn't have access to a mansion with a Tursh Totem portal device, then you should keep a Subway tie. While you are running around, have everyone meet somewhere convenient and make sure everyone brings along a slashing and an acid weapon. You will definitely need a group for this, but provided that you have a capable mage, you can do it with as few as four people. When you have your portals and everyone is ready, summon the Fiun Outpost.
Step 2: Face Paint. When you arrive at the Fiun Outpost, turn around and talk to Fiun Layeel, who is directly behind the portal drop. He will tell you there has been a development in the search for Fiun Lunnum's body and tell you he is suspicious of Nuhmudira. She keeps many secrets in her mansion's basement, so you will need to do some sleuthing. Now head to Lytelthorpe. Find the Devana settlement (due west of the drop) and then run the rest of the way to the mansion, located at 4.0S, 36E. Make your way down to the Basement and use the portal, then wait for the rest of the group. When everyone arrives, buff up. You will want slashing weapons for this section, but you might as well buff your acid weapon too. Physical banes should be sufficient for this quest, but make sure you have all your protects up. When you are done buffing, go into the basement and look for a bookcase that you can target. The map for this dungeon hasn't been updated, but the bookcase is roughly on the far side of the big open room ahead of you as you enter, in the room directly under the number 1 on the map, but use the [ and ] keys to help look. When you find it, make sure everyone else knows where it is and then use it. You will find yourself in a storage area filled with crates and Sclavi. Have everyone fan out. Kill the Sclavi and break the crates. You are looking for a text called "Blue Face Paint Recipe". The crates randomly drop these on the ground when they are destroyed. The drop rate is low, but it doesn't take much doing to wipe out a room's worth of boxes. When everyone has their recipes, gather up and summon the Fiun Outpost again. Line up and turn in the recipe to Fiun Layeel and he will direct you to the next dungeon.
Step 3: Temple Entrance. The Temple Entrance is located on top of a mountain in northeast Osteth, which is really quite far from any useful portal. You can run from the Dagger Vale settlement in Arwic, but you're just as well off using the Tursh Totem portal device pretty much every mansion worth its salt should have. Hit whichever portal you want and then run to 84.3N 24.7E. When you arrive, go inside and wait. The dungeon itself is completely linear with the exception of a very short lock and lever section which you will have no trouble figuring out. Most of the dungeon is a series of short corridors and small tomb-like rooms. You'll be fighting Sclavi through most of the dungeon, so keep that slash weapon handy. After some time, you will reach a larger room with gates on the far side. You will find the first boss here, a Falatacot named Patrician Phaerix, as well as a few Sclavus Guards. Kill the Sclavi first and then work on the Falatacot. He likes to vuln a lot, but he doesn't toss much war, so you shouldn't have much trouble. Use your acid weapons on this guy. When he dies, you should loot a key from his corpse and have your group wait by the gate closest to the wooden door. You will use your key on the wooden door and go down a short ramp, where you will find a lever. Hit it to open the first gate. Rejoin your group in a small anteroom. If you have less than 15 minutes on your buffs, this is an ideal place to rebuff. When you are ready, use the far wall-mounted lever to open the door into the next room. You will find a room very similar to the last larger one, complete with Patrician Kilkitris, another Falatacot, and his guards. Kill everything and again, loot a key from his corpse. Again, have your group wait by the gate leading back into the anteroom and use your key to unlock the wooden door. Head down and use both levers. Now go back through the anteroom and down the path that has just opened. You are now ready to find the dark truth about Fiun Lunnum - she's been turned into an Undead! You will find her at the far end of a large ramped room. Kill the Sclavi here first and then start working on her. She is no pushover! She has 200,000 health and casts very potent spells. She also has a habit of dispelling her own debuffs, as well as dispelling your own buffs! Melees will take the brunt of Lunnum's magic, especially her ring spells. They are quite strong and can hit you multiple times if you are positioned in an unlucky spot. When melees take damage, they should disengage and heal. Lunnum occasionally casts a spell that reduces your health by half. If you take this spell, back off and wait it out. A lucky ring could kill you, so be safe. Mages and Archers will have little trouble with Lunnum because she uses so much ranged (and slow!) magic. Just keep a healthy distance between you and her. One mage should be responsible for watching Lunnum's debuff status. If she dispels, you need to get those debuffs back on her quickly. Imperil, Acid Vuln, and Magic Yield should be sufficient. If you are in a smaller group, you will likely face a respawn. Pick off the Sclavi as soon as they spawn - you don't want them vulning you. Eventually Lunnum will go down. Everyone needs to loot a key from her corpse, then head to the far (south) end of the room. Head in to a small treasure room and line up. You will find a strangely shaped golden chest in a corner. Line up and use your key to unlock it. Empty it as a courtesy to the next person, but be sure to grab the Black Skull of Xikma and Fiun Crown. When each person has their treasure, have them use the surface portal and wait for you. When everyone is done, summon the Fiun Outpost once more.
Step 4: Rewards. The main reward of this quest is the Black Skull of Xikma, which adds an Undead Slaying power to any loot-generated weapon. The skull does not count as a tinker and can be added to a 10x tinkered weapon. Adding the skull does not affect future tinkers either, so you can safely add it to any weapon with one exception - the Skull cannot be used in conjunction with the Mukkir Slaying property or a White Rabbit's Foot. Your other reward is a substantial amount of XP. Talk to Fiun Layeel for your primary XP reward, which is something like 15% of your level, capped at 100M XP. If you didn't kill the Viamontian at the end of the second Lunnum quest, you will receive an addition XP reward capped at 20M XP. You may also turn in the Fiun Crown for more XP, roughly a fifth of whatever you got for completing the quest.
