Dereth is an expansive place with many wonderous sights to see.  There are also sights you can see for about 3 seconds before a particularly nasty critter sends you hurtling through portal space back to your lifestone.  Now there is a reward for exploring!

Step 1 - Flagging.  To begin this quest, head to Holtburg and go behind the bar.  There you will see an NPC and a pedestal with a globe spinning on top of it.  This is an exploration marker, 1 of 100.  Talk to Sean the Speedy to be flagged to use these markers.  For every 10 you find, you will receive an XP reward.  There are also several titles for completing a set number of markers and for finding special themed subsets of the markers.  It will take you several hours to find them all, but the rewards are worth it!

Step 2 - Explore!  Instead of listing all of the markers' locations, I am simply going to direct you to download and print a Word document I made that has all of the markers listed in checklist form, along with what I consider to be the most efficient way to hit them all.  Download HERE.

Step 3 - Rewards.  For every 10 markers you find, you will receive 20% of your level (capped at 197) when you talk to Sean the Speedy next.  There's no need to return every 10 markers - you won't miss out if you do all 100 and then go back.  There are also quite a few titles available.  They are:

Requirement Title
Find 20 Markers Amateur Explorer
Find 40 Markers Experienced Explorer
Find 60 Markers Adept Explorer
Find 80 Markers Master Explorer
Find all Markers Elite Explorer
Find 5 Mountain Climber Markers Mountain Climber
Find 5 Party Goer Markers Party Goer
Find 5 Crater Crasher Markers Crater Crasher
Find 5 Spelunker Markers Spelunker
Find 5 Sky Diver Markers Sky Diver
Find 5 Daredevil Markers Daredevil

The final reward might be the most valuable.  When you talk to Sean after having completed all 100 markers, he will give you a token that you can redeem for an Explorer's backpack.  This pack has 30 slots instead of the usual 24.  Clean out a pack, dump it on the ground, and then give Sean the token.  Don't be foolish - make sure you have a pack space free, as this is a unique, one-time-only reward!
