The Natural Philosophers

Ishaq and Tanami have been feuding for years now.  Both are absent-minded professors of Natural Philosophy (they're naturalists).  Ishaq has written a treatise that Tanami claims was stolen from his own notes!  Ishaq has the notes and claims them as his own, but has foolishly locked them in his cellar, which is overrun by Singularity Caul monsters.  Your job is to recover the key in the deepest part of the dungeon and then decide who to help.

Step 1:  Preparation.  Getting to Ishaq's Cellar can be a bit challenging.  It is located south of Ayan Baqar, so if you don't live there, you will need to catch a ride.  The BSD portal device can get you reasonably close, as one of the BSDs is just north of Ayan.  Once you are in the area, run to the Cellar at 66S 86.6W.  You can make the run unbuffed if you are careful, but I wouldn't recommend it.  The dungeon is tieable, so bringing friends along will be easy.  Buff outside!  The drop can be hot.  You will be fighting Caul Rats, Sephal Nefanes, and Giant Mites, so put up acid, frost, and bludgeoning protects and banes.  A slashing weapon is probably your best bet in here.  Note that it is possible to run through the dungeon if you know where you are going and you have a good connection.

Step 2:  Ishaq's Cellar.  Once inside, you will likely be attacked by Rats immediately.  Kill them and head left to a ramp leading down.  You will find yourself in a larger room filled with Rats, Nefanes, and Mites.  Carefully kill them - the Nefanes have a habit of acid vulning and then hitting you with Acid Arc VII.  When the room is clear, go through the exit on the east wall and look for a quick turn to the right.  You will probably be fighting Rats again at this point, but get around the corner as fast as you can in case the previous room starts to respawn.  Follow this corridor through a large room and to another T intersection.  Turn right again and you will head down a final ramp.  At the end of the ramp is a T intersection.  Go to the left and be quick about it or you may drag critters from the right room into the left room, hampering your efforts.  The key you are looking for is in the left room, but kill the critters first.  When everyone has the key, Portal Recall back to the top.

Step 3:  Rewards.  You now have a decision to make - should you help Ishaq or Tanami?  Both will give you 10M XP for your efforts, but Ishaq will give you a mace and Tanami will give you a crossbow.  If you don't really care, go with Ishaq, as he's closer.  Simply give Ishaq the key you recovered and he will reward you with his mace.  If you want to help Tanami, look right in front of you at the drop into the Cellar and you will see a chest.  Use the key to unlock the chest and grab the papers inside.  Now return to Ayan and give Tanami the notes.  He will give you your Crossbow.
