If you have proven your loyalty to the Silyun Rebels and your skills to Mekmet, you may be invited to join the Whispering Blade, the secret order dedicated to resisting King Varicci's insane plans.
*Note!* You must have completed the Rebel Quest Series and the Shade Iron Attack quests to begin this quest. If you chose to aide the Viamontian Loyalists, you will only be able to join the Rossu Morta. Also note that joining the Whispering Blade is a decision you cannot erase - it will be with your character for life.
Step 1: Preparation. Like the Shade Iron quest, this one also begins in Ayan Baqur. Head to the bar and look for Hawkwull the Discreet near the back. If you meet the quest's requirements, he will give you an assignment, promising to make you a full-fledged operative of the Whispering Blade should you succeed. Your job is to infiltrate Count Dardante's Workshop and bring back any information you can about what Dardante is doing. The Workshop is in the Royal Hall of Sanamar at 70.1N 62.5W (near the Torture Chamber) and is well-protected by the usual Viamontian forces - Knights, Mages, and Eaters. You will need to buff a lightning and slash weapon, protect against everything, and bane against physical and acid damage. When you are ready, go in.
Step 2: Dardante's Workshop. This first section of the dungeon is quite linear, so it's almost impossible to get lost. If you are alone and lack melee D, go slowly and watch yourself. Dispelling vulns would be a good idea. Near the end you will encounter Summoning Chamber Adepts, a special type of Mage who has a nasty habit of overusing Lightning Magic. Kill them, preferably at range, and then check their corpses. You and anyone who came with you will need to loot and equip a Ring of Summoning Adepts. One drops on each Adept kill, so you may need to wait for a respawn. Once everyone has a ring, make your way to the very end of the dungeon, where you will find a pair of portals. Make sure you enter the Summoning Chamber portal, not the surface portal like I did the first time through.
Step 3: Summoning Chamber. Upon materializing, you will find yourself at the end of a long cellblock. Take your ring off for the time being. When you are ready, engage the enemy, taking special care to knock out the Adepts of Fire first, as they are as magic-happy as the Summoning Adepts. When everything is dead, make your way north and you will go down a pair of ramps into a large room. Kill anything there and then head to the left, where you will find a portal into the Binding Realm. Slip your ring on again and enter that portal.
Step 4: Binding Realm. The Binding Realm is a large room with only one thing in it - a Bound Falatacot. Have everyone in your group talk to him first, then dispatch him as he asks. He drops one untranslated text per kill. Everyone will need a copy, so you may be waiting for some time. His spawn rate is fairly slow - about once every 3-5 minutes. When everyone has their text, head back to Ayan.
Step 5: Rewards. Hand Hawkwull the ring and the text you discovered. He will reward you with roughly 10M XP between the two items and he will live up to his word and make you an official operative of the Whispering Blade. As proof, he will give you a Ring of the Whispering Blade. Aside from all the Moderate Weapon Masteries, the ring allows you entry into the Whispering Blade Chapterhouse, which is located just east of Ayan at 59.9S, 87.2W. Inside the Chapterhouse are several convenient portals, NPC quest starters, vendors, and most recently, a crystal that casts all the Life Protects and Restoration spells on you! When you reach level 120, you will be ready to take the next step into the Whispering Blade.
