Aerbax is trying to take Asheron out of the picture by erasing his memory of the Sundering, the spell that sent the Empyrean into exile.  Go to Knorr and stop the Virindi from completing their plans!

Step 1:  Preparation.  Assuming you have already done the preparation step in the Quiddity Seed quest guide, the first thing you'll need to do is get to Knorr.  That means going to Stonehold and finding Olcris, Nuhmudira's Student (he's a Lugian).  Depending on if and when you last visited Knorr, he will ask for either an M or MMD note.  The MMD takes you right into the main portal chamber at Knorr, but if he asks you for an M note, you will have to pass the guardians' trials.  Refer to the Halls of Knorr guide for the answers if you need them.  You will be fighting Olthoi primarily, but you will also need to dispatch one VoD-style Virindi.  Non-mages should use an armor rending weapon, preferably slashing or fire.  Mages won't have any trouble.

Step 2:  Planar Abstraction.  Once you arrive in the portal chamber at Knorr, buff up.  When you are ready, look behind you for the Collegium Planar Abstraction Conveyance.  This portal will take you into one of the bug-infested schools at Knorr.  Your first task is to solve the lever puzzle.  Find the center bookcase (all the bookcases are really lever doors) and then find the selectable torch on the wall behind it.  Pull the torch and then enter the center room.  Let the door close behind you.  Inside are three levers - two on opposite walls and one near the exit.  Pull either one of the opposing levers and then the lever near the door.  Exit the first room and follow the wall on which you pulled the first lever (ie, if you pulled the lever on the E wall, go E).  You should find a bookcase door open.  Repeat the process and you will open a door leading further into the Collegium.  Now it's Olthoi time.  You can fight your way through if you like, but it's just as easy to run through the place.  Keep going up and you will find the Headmaster's Quarters portal.  Note that there are several other portals on the way.  You can enter those if you like, but it's no easier than just running.

Step 3:  Quiddity Seed.  Inside the Headmaster's Quarters is a large room at the top of a spiral staircase.  In the middle of the room is a Quiddity Seed (they look like Fragments of the New Singularity if you remember all the way back to that story arc).  Use it and you will be transported into Asheron's nightmare.  At one end of the room,  you'll see Asheron vainly trying to cast the Sundering.  Ignore him for now.  Shortly after you enter his dream, Olthoi and Virindi will spawn.  Ignore them and look for the Virindi Portal (it's red and glowing, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it).  Kill it as quickly as you can - you are on a timer!  I believe it is withered, so don't bother debuffing it.  When it dies, you'll have a moment to recover your vitals, but then another wave of Olthoi and another portal will appear.  You will have to fight your way through several waves of these, with the strength of the Virindi and Olthoi increasing each time.  It might seem like a good idea to kill the spawn before the portal, but I would recommend that strategy only if you think you are spending far too much time healing yourself instead of killing the portal.  After you have cleared roughly 5 Virindi Portals, a group of Virindi led by The Cleaner will spawn.  Dispatch them (I would kill The Cleaner's friends first here).   The Cleaner is basically a Virindi Paradox, so non-mages should use their armor rends here.  When the Cleaner goes down, go talk to Asheron.  He will give you an Empyrean Spherule and thank you for saving him.

Step 4:  Rewards.  Return with your Spherule to Asheron's Castle off Eastham.  Give him  your Spherule and he will reward you.  You'll earn a solid chunk of XP (capping at 261M), the title Protector of the Past, a special Quiddity Ingot (with no known use at the moment), and the Empowered Breastplate of the Perfect Light.  You will also get the spherule back for your wall at home.
