Celcynd the Dour was the first Isparian to master portal magic in the turbulent days immediately following the death of the Olthoi Queen.  His tale is a tragic one - he managed to save the children of Holtburg from a Tumerok by summoning a portal, but he was unable to repeat the feat to save the town's adults.  Now he spends his days drinking in Rithwic, trying to drown his memories in ale.

Step 1:  Preparation.  You will need two portals for this quest - a ride to Subway and a tie near the Mount Lethe Magma Tubes, which are unfortunately not tieable.  Your best bet is to find someone who already has the recall spell and have them run east of the mountain to find the Sclavus Cathedral, located at 33.4S, 80W.  Tie inside or outside - it doesn't matter.  You will also need a lockpicker for both phases of the quest.  Slashing weapons are a good general purpose choice for this quest.

Step 2:  Mount Lethe Magma Tubes.  Summon the Sclavus Cathedral and buff up.  You will be running through the West Dires and into a very active volcano, so keep a close eye on your lower level questers.  Mt. Lethe is located at 33.8S, 85.3W.  When you arrive, you will find a cave entrance surrounded by a good number of fiery monsters including elementals and golems.  Have your high levels lure them away from the cave while your low levels sneak inside.  Then have the high levels disengage and go in themselves.  That was probably the most difficult part of the quest.  Once inside, follow the only path, which is straight ahead.  Turn left at the T and from that point on, keep going down.  After making your way down a couple ramps, you'll reach a large room with a locked door on the far wall.  Pick it and continue going down.  You will pass over several bridges over lava pits as you go, finally reaching a third bridge.  That bridge will lead to a room with two exits.  Have your group go left and wait by the closed door - they should see an exit portal behind that closed door.  Remind them to be careful and not to run into said portal.  You should look for a lever in the room with two exits.  Pull it, open the right door, and then head right, through the now-opened lever door.  Pass the PK Altar and go down into a small room with two named Skeletons, Foreman Brelay and his boss, Lord Camberth.  Ignore them or kill them, whichever you like, and then find the lever in their room.  Pull it and then run back the way you came.  The door where you left the group should now be open.  Go in, avoiding the surface portal, and look for the passage leading down.  Follow the path down and you will reach a chamber guarded by a couple Virindi.  At the far end is a pool of flaming water - the Water of Mount Lethe.  Now it's camping time.  Everyone who wants the scroll needs to get a sample of the water and unfortunately the water is on a fairly slow timer.  When everyone has their water, summon a portal to Subway.

Step 3:  Celcynd.  Head to Rithwic and find Celcynd.  He's in the bar on the far side of town from where you land.  Line up and give him the water.  The water is supposed to erase all of a person's memories, allowing Celcynd to forget his troubles, but Celcynd isn't quite ready to make that decision yet.  Instead, he will give you his copy of the tome "The Reign of Alfrega".  In case you're wondering, we've cut out an unnecessary part of the quest that sets up this trade.  The tome is very heavy, so hopefully your younger questers can manage the weight.  When everyone has their tome, summon Subway again.

Step 4:  Harlune the Misanthrope.  This time, take the surface portal out of Subway and head east down the slope.  Find the Mountain Shortcut (35N, 56E) and go in.  The drop is usually hot, but the nastiest thing you're likely to see is a Drudge Lurker.  Now continue east to 41.4N, 57.3E, where you will find a portal to Mite Maze.  This place is a horrible maze, as the name implies, and will get you lost unless you are very careful.  From the drop, hug the left wall.  Now pay attention to your compass - once you are heading due W, switch to hugging the right wall.  Follow the right wall until you come to a large open room.  Pass through and you will come to a Y intersection on the far side.  Take the left branch, but then immediately hug the right wall.  Hug that wall until you find a ramp leading upwards.  Keep going and you will reach a locked door.  On the far side of the door is the Reedshark Alfrega, Harlune's pet.  Killing Alfrega makes Harlune crankier than usual, so don't do it.  (Honestly, I don't know what happens if you do, but if you are leading a group, I woudln't recommend experimenting).  Open the door and follow the left wall and you will eventually reach Harlune.  Harlune's back story is quite interesting but beyond the scope of this guide.  All you really need to know is that he and Celcynd go back a long way and that book you're carrying belongs to Harlune.  Give it back to him and he will trade you for the scroll of Lethe Recall.

Step 5:  Rewards.  Read the scroll Harlune gave you and you will have the ability to recall to Mt. Lethe.  Harlune is a trickster though, so don't use the spell without casting bludgeoning protection first.
