Fiun Lunnum's Pyre

The plight of the Fiun is truly a tragic one.  After destroying their world and fleeing here to Dereth, it looked like they had some chance of survival.  Sadly, the only female Fiun to make the journey to Dereth was found murdered by none other than her own mate shortly after her arrival.  The least we can do to help them is to keep Lunnum's Pyre burning so her memory is not forgotten.

Step 1:  The Pyre.  Begin in Eastwatch and buff up.  There are lots of dangerous monsters on the Isle of Ruin, so make sure you protect against everything and bane against physical and acid damage.  You will also want to buff a fire weapon.  When you are ready, head to 89.1N, 47.6W (on the south face of a hill).  Greet Fiun Gaya and he will give you a book.  By his feet is an icy chest - make sure you grab a Hatchet from it.  Conveniently enough, the book you received has all the relevant coordinates in it, so simply refer to that.

Step 2:  The Great Frost Tree.  Portal Recall back to Eastwatch and jump off the north face of the cliff.  From there, it's a short run to 92.1N 42.2W, where you will find the Great Frost Tree.  It is protected by a spawn of Copper Gromnies and a Shadow Nightmare.  Kill the spawn and then use the Hatchet on the tree.  This can be tricky, as most of the tree cannot be properly targeted.  I've found that only the very top of the tree can be targeted, so either take several steps away from the tree manipulate the camera so that you can see the very top.  Using the Hatchet on the tree will destroy the hatchet and give you an Ice Log.  Time to purify it.

Step 3:  Ayabar's Glacial Water.  The second step in this quest is to find a Pool of Glacial Water inside Ayabar's Laboratory.  Unfortunately, no map yet exists and the dungeon itself is quite a maze.  You're looking for a room with a jump leading down into a pit.  You can find it by taking all lefts, although that is probably not the fastest way to get where you want to be going.  After you've made the jump, follow the left wall and you will find an opening in the wall.  Head through it and you will find a room with several Mad Fiun and a Pool of Glacial Water.  Kill the Fiun and then use your log on the pool to purify it.  Now portal recall back to the top of the dungeon.

Step 4:  Ruschk Fire.  Take the exit portal from the dungeon and run to a Ruschk Camp located at 90.1N 51.6W.  The camp is protected by several Ruschk Sadists and Laktars, so kill them first.  As soon as the camp is clear, use your log on the fire.  Now return to Lunnum's Pyre and give the Smoldering Log to Fiun Gaya.

Step 5:  Rewards.  Fiun Gaya will give you 2.4 Million XP and the Luminous Robe.  The Robe is like no other - it's stylish and very powerful!  Although it has a low base AL (only 100), its spells increase its armor level by 500!  The active robe is AL 600 with 1200 effective AL against physical and frost damage.  Unfortuntely, only characters with 295 buffed Self may activate the robe, so it's pretty much restricted to mage characters.  The robe can be dyed too and looks outstanding in pretty much every shade, although it looks quite silly on male characters.  Fiun Gaya also accepts Snow Lilies, but for substantially less XP than Lila Fiora of Silyun.
