Major Shivering Stone

Difficulty: 20+
Timer: 13 Days
Can be Solo'd?  Yes

The Major Shivering Stone quest used to be one of the easiest quests out there.  You could run the entire quest without having to kill a single monster if you are careful.  Unfortunately, the dungeon was changed and now it is one of the hardest of the vaults.  This dungeon has one of the highest concentrations of Dark Revenants anywhere in Dereth.

Serac Vault is located at 76S, 29E, atop a mountain in the Linvak Range east of Qalaba'r.  The only climbable face of the mountain is to the south, so approach it from that direction.  Also, you will be entering the domain of the Lugian Raiders, an annoying variant of Lugians who pack hollow weaponry.  Make sure to put your armor on as you run around.  Alternately, you can run to 60S, 55E, which is near Baishi's Mage's Pass settlement.

Once you reach the dungeon, buff up outside.  Ideally, you won't see a single undead at the drop point, but you might run into an army, so be prepared.  The weakest monsters in Serac are Lich Lords, to give you an idea of what you might face upon entrance.  Undeads cast all varieties of war magic, so protect as many as you can.  From the drop point, take the first right away from the tall main room into the winding side-rooms of this dungeon.  Make your way southeast going down a ramp until you reach a ledge.  Jump down into a rocky pit and fight your way up the path at the far end.  You will wind around for a while, crossing three bridges until you reach a ledge.  There is a bridge directly ahead of you here and that's where you need to jump.  You can either tap-jump at an angle or do a low-power shift jump out - it's a very delicate jump!  If you fall, make your way back west to the drop point and go through the beginning of the quest again.

Once you make the first jump, turn west and cross over two bridges.  You'll reach a fork - one path going north, one northwest.  Take the northwest path and cross two more bridges.  You will reach another ledge here and another fairly difficult jump.  It's the same kind of jump as the first, so you should have experience with it.  Head north after you land until you reach another ledge.  If you are in a group, the majority of the group should do a half-power jump across to the northeast.  The leader should do a shift jump to a small platform just to the right of the ledge, where you'll find a lever.  Hit the lever, tap jump back to the ledge, and run back the way you came.  You will eventually come to a lever door, which hopefully will still be open.  Run past it, hit the far lever, and start running back the way you came.  When you reach the ledge, do a half-power jump to join your group and then run past the open door into the last room.  There are a few Dark Revenants here, which shouldn't pose much of a problem.  You'll find the Stone on the floor

Congrats!  You will need a stone tool to remove your frost stone once you have used it on your armor or weapon.  Removal can possibly destroy your stone, so be careful.  The timer on the stone is two and a half days and you may have more than one stone at a time.
