The Nexus Crystal may be long gone, but echoes of its power still remain.  The Viamontians have picked up on it and have taken over the compound!  Lay waste to their occupation forces and disrupt their research efforts.

Step 1:  Preparation.  The Nexus is located in the middle of nowhere in the west-central Dires.  The fastest way to get there is probably Mt. Lethe Recall.  The dungeon is tieable, so you can grab the portal for your group (if you have one).  Although the old dungeon was filled with Shards and Shadows, they are all gone now, replaced with Viamontian Knights, Mages, and Eaters.  You will need good armor as well as slashing and lightning weapons.

Step 2:  The Nexus.  Although the map I've provided is out of date with regard to the monster spawns, the layout of the dungeon hasn't changed.  The drop is safe for buffing, so you might as well do it inside.  You will need all protects and physical and acid banes.  When you are set, head north and you will reach an acid pit behind a door.  Jump across, but don't jump too strongly or you run the risk of hitting your head.  Proceed north through a series of small rooms and then jump across another acid pit.  The rest of the dungeon is a series of down ramps laid out in a spiral shape.  There are also three jumps downward.  Be careful when you jump - the pit rooms are filled with monsters and you can take quite a beating if you stay in the middle.  After the third jump, run to the north and you will reach a closed door.  The Nexus Commander and his lackeys are behind the door and more likely than not, they will be charging at the door trying to hit you.  If you are a melee, kill through the door.  If not, kill them anyway!  Loot the Commander for a note and his Helm.  Timer on the Commander and to pick up the helm is unknown at the moment.

Step 3:  Rewards.  The Nexus Commander's Helm is a decent quest helm, although there are a lot of more useful helms around these days.  It is quite the color though!
