The Squid Fights is another in the series of rare quest gem quests. This time, you will be investigating the rumors that Banderlings are holding illicit Niffis Fights in a secret cavern. You will learn all about Reijiri, the Littlest Niffis and her disturbing relationship with Weijin Shou.
Step 1: Finding the Gem. Like the other Rare Gem quests, you will be forced to spend several hours killing Banderlings. I've found a gem on a Banderling Aggressor, but other people have reported finding them on Savages, Scalpers, and Predators. Your best bet is to kill every Banderling you find in the West Dires. Alternatively, find someone with a gem!
Step 2: Niffis Fighting Pits. Assemble your group in a nice flat area. You might want to use a Starter Town Gem to test the spot you've chosen. Have your group buff up before you head into the dungeon, as the drop is very hot. You will be fighting Banderlings and Niffises, so you will want to bring lightning and slashing weapons. Make sure to protect against everything and bane against Bludgeoning, Fire, and Frost. Be sure to let everyone know how hot the drop is and that they should be very careful to watch their health as your group waits for downloaders. When everyone is buffed, use the gem and head in. Kill the Banderlings and wait for everyone to materialize. Before going any farther, everyone needs to pick up the 'Heartfelt Plea' on the ground near the drop point. If you don't pick up the note, you won't get the rewards. When everyone has their note, you can head into the dungeon. It is very linear and very short, but the Banderlings can be dangerous. The end of the dungeon is a corridor with 5 small rooms off to the side. Head to the far end and open the door. Inside you will find Reijiri, the Littlest Niffis. Tell your group to form a line and hand the Note in one at a time to receive the Wallbound Niffis. If you don't form a line, you run the risk of having people miss out on the rewards. When everyone has turned their note in and received the Wallbound Niffis, leave.
Step 3: Rewards. The only reward from this quest is the Wallbound Niffis. It is a hookable item that casts 'Inky Armor', which raises your armor by 5 points for an hour and is fully stackable with other spells.
