The Staff of the Nomads once belonged to Anadil of Shakrassekor, the Sand King general who directed the Dericost defense of the Shard of the Herald. Sadly, he was destroyed by Isparians before we realized why his army was amassed. After the defeat of the Hopeslayer, his remains were returned to his tomb in the southern Direlands. Since then, the tomb was raided by the Shadows! Half of the staff was stolen and the other half was relocated to a safer location.
Step 1: Preparation. If you like, you can visit Anadil's tomb and pick up a piece of lore telling what has happened to the staff. This part isn't necessary - you can start by recovering the pieces immediately. The first location is close to Knath Lair, so the fastest way there is to take the Knath Lair portal device. Alternatively, you can run from the Valley of Death Lifestone (reached by Aerlinthe recalling and taking the portals). The other location is Lightless Catacombs, which is very close to the South Dires portal drop out of Mayoi. You can easily do both in a buff, so buff a fire weapon and protect against all damage types. Impen should be sufficient for banes.
Step 2: Necropolis. The Necropolis is located at 49S, 54.3W and is a series of bunkers protected by Mu-Miyahs. If you like, you can search the area with [ and ] to find the right chest. You should be able to reach the chest by entering the north bunker. Kill your way through and grab the first piece. Recall out when you are done.
Step 3: Lightless Catacombs. Head to Mayoi via Subway. From the town, run west through the valley. There is a portal at the end of the northern ridge, located at 62.2S 77.1E. That portal will drop you in the southeast Dires. The dungeon is nearby, at 82.2S 35.2W. The enemies in this dungeon have been updated, so don't count on the map's opposition list. You will be fighting higher level Shadows and Grievvers, but the hallways are narrow, which will keep the opposition to a minimum. Also note that map doesn't have the location of the staff. You will be able to find the second staff piece in the ring-shaped room located on floor +1. From the drop, run straight ahead and up the ramp. Once you are up, take your 5th right (the second turn that isn't a dead end). Then take your first left. The door ahead of you is a lever door controlled by a pressure plate right in front of it. Run through it and you will reach the ring-shaped room. Fight to the far side and look for a chest. That chest contains the other piece of the staff.
Step 4: Rewards. Combine the two pieces to form the Staff. It's a decent quest weapon until you have a fire render.
