The Cathedral of Ithaenc is all that's left of the Adjanate cult, an Empyrean sect that practiced Blood Magic handed down by the Falatacot.  Unlike the evil Falatacot priestesses of the Blackmire series, the Adjanates were good.  Adja's grandmother was the Falatacot who aided the Yalaini in the Millenium war and showed Empress Alaidain a secret path into the Dericost capital, allowing Alaidain to kill the last Dericost King, Sarvien.  Adja herself was one of the Council of Five, constructors of the great Crystal Array that trapped the Hopeslayer and is responsible for Asheron's long life.  Sadly, the cult was destroyed by overzealous crusaders of the Nali shortly before the coming of the Olthoi.  In this quest, you will enter the remnants of their home and learn some of their secrets.

Step 1:  Getting to the Dungeon.  Without the Recall spell, getting to the dungeon can be difficult unless you know a shortcut.  Instead of running across miles of Vesayan coastline, go to a wedding planner and buy a Ithaenc Wedding Invitation, which is actually a portal gem that summons a portal to the wedding grounds on Ithaenc.  From there, you are within visual range of the cathedral!  Simply follow the cliffs to the cathedral and climb up it.  There's no need to buff at this point - you might see a couple monsters, but they won't hit you.  You will have to jump across a broken section of the cathedral to reach the top.  On the top floor, you will notice a chest to the end near the jump - you will be coming back here after the quest is over!  On the far end, you will see the portal into the Catacombs floating above a section of the cathedral's wall.  You will need to jump in!  First though, buff up.  You will be fighting Moarsmen, Sclavi, and Wisps, so buff a slashing weapon if you have one.  You will want to protect against everything and bane against acid and cold.  Also, if you have low jump, buff that too.  I recommend having at least 250 jump to make it into the portal.  When you are buffed, jump in to the portal.  The drop is basically safe, although enemy spellcasters will cast on you.

Step 2:  Catacombs of Ithaenc.  When everyone is inside, head straight ahead and go around the wall in front of you until you see a large metal door.  Now leave everyone here.  You (and a lockpicker if you don't have it) will be picking some locks and pulling levers.  Head the opposite way you came, moving southeast and ignoring the monsters.  You will descend down a series of staircases - continue running around to the southeast at the end of each ramp.  On the bottom floor, you will find another metal door - this one is locked.  Pick it and head down the ramp.  Kill the Moarsmen here and hit the lever.  Now run back up the first floor!  The lever will open another door at the south end of this floor.  Head through and go down the ramp inside this next room.  The ramp quickly splits at a T - beware!  There is a dispel trap in the middle of the T.  If you do get dispelled, you don't have time to rebuff now.  Just keep going!  At the bottom of the ramp is a large room with a small room inside it.  There are two levers in the small room - one for the door you just passed and one for your main group.  The first door will likely have closed by now, so hit them both.  Now run back the way you came, hopefully avoiding the trap, and rejoin your group.  Once you pass the lever door, you can rebuff.  Just make sure you have your life protects back up.  Now head down the ramp in the room you just entered and continue working down until you come to a locked door.  Pick it and jump down into the pit ahead.  Kill the Wisps and move on to the south.  You will find yourself in a large room with a grating on the ceiling.  Kill the Moarsmen and the Wisps, then loot the Moarsmen corpses.  At least one will have a key that everyone on the quest will need.  You will need to camp out in this room until everyone has their key.  If you are in a particularly large group, start sending people who have the key to the South, where they will find a portal back to the top.  When everyone has their key, the rest of the group should also take the surface portal.

Step 3:  Rewards.  The surface portal takes you back to the top of the Cathedral.  Remember the chest?  Everyone will need to unlock it using their key.  Inside are the Healers' Heart, a Sanctuary Recall scroll (no-give), two untranslated pieces of lore, and some random loot.  Read the scroll and you will learn the spell!  The Healers' Heart is a very useful orb to have - it chain-casts Heal Other VI and costs practically no mana to use.  There are many quests where someone will be asked to chain-heal another player with the Heart, so I keep one on me at all times.  The pieces of lore are also particularly interesting if you are interested in that kind of thing.
