The garrison of Fort Tethana has reached its breaking point! They have been fighting and dying for years now, trying to defeat the Renegade incursions. Now the Viamontian King is trying to earn the loyalty of the Commander, a man named Kurth.
Step 1: Viamontian Encampment. Buff up and head to Fort Tethana. Lightning weapons will work well for this quest, as you'll be fighting a few low level Viamontian Knights and mid-level Tumerok and Lugian renegades. You'll also want to protect against all damage types and bane against physical damage (if you don't have melee defense). From the portal drop into Teth, run to 5.9N, 69.0 W. You will find a small group of Viamontians here - kill them all. Upon killing one of the Men-at-Arms, you will receive a green message telling you to loot a parchment from his corpse. He also drops a portal gem to Teth, which will make your quest a bit easier. The respawn rate on the Men-at-Arms is rather fast, so you won't have trouble doing this in a group. When everyone has a copy of the note (Tethana's Response), you may leave.
Step 2: Queen's Emissary. You will need to take your note to the Queen's Emissary Jin Ghao, who is located in Danby's Outpost (for some reason...). The fastest way to Danby's is to take Subway to Zaikhal and then run NW to 16.7N 1.6W to the Danby's portal. Give him your note and he will give you another note, The Queen's Missive. Now pop your Tethana gem so you can give your note to Commander Kurth.
Step 3: Renegade Incursion (No map yet...). From the drop, run SW of the Fort to 0.5N, 73.3W, where you will find a portal guarded by several Renegade Tumeroks. The dungeon itself is fairly small and rather linear, so you shouldn't have trouble. Fight your way through (or just run...) and you will reach a room with an exit portal and several NPC guards, including Commander Kurth. Give him the Queen's Missive and he will give you one more text, "Tethana's Price". Now you have a decision to make!
Step 4: Rewards. It's time to choose which side you want to aide - Queen Elysa or King Varicci. The rewards for helping either faction are basically the same - a sword and 720K XP. If you help the Queen, you will receive the Blade of the Realm and if you help the Viamontians, you will get Renlen's Grace. Return Tethana's Price to the Queen's Emissary in Danby's to aide the Queen or give the note to the Grand Knight in the Castle of Sanamar if you would rather aide the King. If there are repercussions to this quest's decision, they haven't manifested themselves just yet...
