Shortly after Bael Zharon was defeated, the errand Virindi Directors opened a Consulate in the northern Linvak mountains to contact the Lugians. For some reason or other, 3 of the Virindi Legates brought with them 3 spell scrolls. While the new VII spells have more or less made these scrolls obsolete, they still have a use for the midlevel mage or melee.

Like most Virindi installations, you’ll be facing dark drudges and Virindi for the most part, but you will also see a few dolls inside as well. Your best weapon is probably fire, although slashing works well for me too. Virindi are powerful spellcasters, so you’ll want strong protects to match them. I’d suggest emphasis on bludgeon prots, but you’ll want the others too.

When you’re prepared, head out for Qalaba’r and run NE towards the Gredaline Consulate at 61.6 S, 29.3 E. The dungeon is restricted to 25+. The foyer inside should be safe, although other parties may have lured drudges back to you if you are unlucky. In any event, you will drop on a large platform where you should be safe. From here, there are 4 different paths, one in each compass direction. You will want to explore the North, West, and East paths for the spells. The south path leads to another part of the dungeon filled with tuskers and hollow minions, so be careful. From the start, the quest is pretty linear. You have to take each path once for all the scrolls. There aren’t any wrong turns and you will eventually reach a Virinidi Legate (basically a master) and his puppet friend. The Legates drop the scrolls you will need. Be careful if you take a vuln from the Legate. I’m not 100% sure of the respawn time on the Legates, but it seemed best to return to the top and run another path instead of wait when I have run this in a group. Also note, the scrolls cannot be given or dropped, so make sure the right person has the right scroll.

After your group has the scrolls they want, head back to Zaikhal. Visit the handy Virindi translator Diyas al-Yat and get your spells added to your spell list. These are the spells you can learn, along with their difficulty.

Dark Flame – a purple version of Flame Bolt V. It's really no different from Flame Bolt V, but it looks cool. Diff is the same as Flame Bolt.

Unnatural Persistence – a more potent version of regeneration VI. Improves heal rate by 100%.  Diff is 250.

Arcane Restoration – a more potent version of mana renewal VI. Improves mana recovery rate by 100% and lasts longer.  Diff is 275 though.

Each of these spells requires a diamond scarab to cast. These spells should suit you well until you learn VII life or VI war spells.
