During the rise of the Ancient Olthoi Queen, Isparians and the Dericost joined forces for a second time.  The Undead Mechanic asked for alloy pieces in exchange for special Dericost Poisons.  Now that the Olthoi threat has passed, the Mechanic still needs help, but he now offers experience rewards, in addition to a special pair of boots, a replica of the Mechanic's machine, and a title token.  The Mechanic lives on Marae Lassel at 42.1N 79.0W.  You will need to recover 20! Alloy pieces from various dungeons throughout Dereth to receive your boots, so this quest will take you quite some time.  Below are the dungeons (with a link to the dungeon's map), the experience reward, and whether you need lockpick or not to reach the pieces.

If you have high enough Jump skill, you can bypass the locked door in Bone Lair - otherwise, you need lockpick.  Glendon Wood Dungeon has a series of keys you can use to complete the dungeon, but they are a big pain to gather, so I'd suggest just using lockpick.  Small Ice Cave and Inner Dungeon require keys to complete.  To get the Small Ice Cave's key, make a bowl of Carol's Carrot Soup and give it to the Karwin the Lunatic at Bandit Castle.  You can buy the key to Inner Dungeon from a vendor on the far side of Plateau, located at 40.6N, 41.5W.  Alternatively, you can just pick the locks if you can beat the 350 difficulty.

For each piece you turn in, the Undead Mechanic will give you a single page of a book (or the book's cover for the first piece) in addition to the experience.  Once you have all 20 items, assemble them and return them for your reward.
