Getting an Edge

As a lower level adventurer in one of the basic classes, you will have the chance to earn an edge over your adversaries.  You can earn an edge in any adventure class that has no prerequisite to join, such as mage, warrior, and spiritist.  There are two methods to be given these quests.  If you are over level 10 and an active member of the adventure class whose edge you want, the trainer should give you the option to gain an edge in his greeting.  If you are below level 10 though, you will have to harrass your trainer for quests until you are given the quest '<class>'s edge'.

The quest itself is not terribly complicated, but it could take you a long time, depending on how lucky you are.  Your job is to bring the fight to the Withered Aegis by killing 20 zombies.  Level doesn't matter - kill 20 level 1 zombies or 20 level 50 zombies.  Just make sure you kill 20.  Also be sure to loot their corpses carefully, because you need to collect 10 zombie fingers, too!  Unless you are very lucky, you probably will not find your 10 fingers on the first 20 zombies you kill.  Keep bashing those undead until you get what you are looking for.

Once you have killed your 20 zombies and have your 10 fingers, it's time to return to your trainer.  Greet him again, and you will be given your reward!  Instead of gaining experience, you will gain a special passive ability that will stay with you for life.  The reward changes, depending on which class you have joined.  Clerics, for instance, gain a permanant +10 to their life skill (active, not base), while mages and spiritists gain +10 to their to-hit chances.  Warriors get 10 extra health!  These might not be the most exciting quests, but they are worth your time.
