Roleplaying Rules and Enforcement
It was decided long ago that PoA would play on the roleplaying server, in the hopes of having more fun and finding more like-minded people. Overall, I would say this has happened and I for one do not regret our decision. However, it is necessary to lay down some guild rules for RP conduct.
1. All naming and public chat (ie, /say and /shout, but not /tell, /guild, or /chat) will conform to the RP Shard Ruleset, as well as the General Naming Ruleset and the General Rules of Conduct laid down by AE prior to launch. Please refer to these rules and obey them. Shard rules outweigh even the guild's rules.
2. The guild channel is considered private chat between guild members. You may use modern language and discuss current events.
3. Certain guild events may be designated RP only, meaning that the organizer expects anyone who attends to roleplay.
Naming violations will be dealt on a case by case basis, as determined by the monarch. All prospective members must have names conforming with the naming conventions. Should a prospective member's name be deemed in blatant disregard of the naming conventions, that player will not be allowed admittance, or should the player be invited while the monarch is not available, that player will be dismissed from the guild with an explanation. Should a member or prospective member have a name that is questionably appropriate, the monarch will submit that name to AE customer service and let them make the final decision. Any member dismissed or prospective member denied admittance for naming violations will be allowed to rejoin the guild after a name change has occurred. The decision of whether or not a name is a blatant violation of the naming conventions will rest solely with the monarch and shall not be influenced by personal opinion of the member in question.
Violations of the rules of conduct (including RP only guild events) will follow the rules for discipline laid out in the Charter. Additionally, third offenses against the rules of conduct or the roleplaying rules of conduct will be reported to AE for enforcement.
Last, but not least, please bear in mind the last section of the rules of conduct:
Ashar, the Sentinels and Advocates, and I are all responsible for the conduct of the guild.
