Recruitment

Recruitment into the Paladins of Asheron always has been a simple process.  The guild system in Horizons is vastly different from the patron/vassal system in AC and AC2, so there are some slight changes necessary here.

Any interested party may join the Paladins of Asheron.  All that is necessary is that the interested party talk to a member in good standing and ask to join the guild.  All members in good standing have the authority to invite new members into the guild, using the command /guildinvite <name>.  The inviter should inform the potential member about our guild's goals and ideals, rules, where to find the forums, and ESPECIALLY how to use the guild channel before, during, or immediately after they join.  New members are given the title 'Starting Member' as a default by the guild manager system.  New members remain at that rank until the person who invited them informs the Monarch or Executive Officer, the Monarch or Executive Officer meets/talks to with the new member, or the new member registers on the forums.  Failure to do so will result in the new member remaining as a 'Starting Member' indefinitely.  'Starting Members' cannot recruit new members or add events to the calendar.  After 1 month of joining, new members are allowed to seek the position of Sentinel, should they so desire.  Exceptions for guild mergers exist, however.

Should a member receive a message from a prospective member asking about the guild, he may answer it himself if he wishes, or he may direct the prospective member to another member, preferably the monarch or an officer if available.  While talking to the monarch is not a prerequisite of joining the guild, doing so eliminates the 'Starting Member' period.

All alternate Characters are welcome to join the guild.  Each player may only have one character with the rank 'Member'.  All subsequent alternate characters will be given the rank of 'Alternate Member'.  This rank has the same privileges as a full 'Member' and is simply a clerical method for keeping track of our active population.  Each alternate member will be awarded 1 point using the guild manager system and that point will be inscribed with the name of that alternate's main character.

Please bear in mind when inviting a new member that everyone's actions reflect on the group.
