Final Update - March 20, 2005 -

I've decided to move the HZ link off of the main index page for the site.  It's been ages since I retired and I believe the last PoA in Istaria called it quits over a month ago.  I'm keeping site up, mostly for sentimental reasons, but I don't want to misdirect people into thinking PoA still exists in Horizons.  Sad but true.

Artifact Entertainment has announced massive layoffs of their development and customer service staff.  All tolled, 9 of the most public faces AE has are gone.  Read more about it HERE.

In unrelated news, stop by the AC section of the site sometime.  I've just finished the artwork for the site and would love suggestions and comments.  If any of you are considering joining PoA in AC, you might be interested to know that a large number of players, including our old monarch Ja'afar, have returned over the last month or so... looks like AC is having a revival!  If you are brand new to AC, I've provided a guide and there are always plenty of people around to help.

My time in Istaria has come to an end.  Without going into too much depth, let's just say a lot of things frustrated me to the point of not enjoying myself anymore.  I am passing control of the guild over to Ashar (for now, anyway) and the guild plot as well as my account are now in Etrican's hands.  I want to thank all of you who have been guild-members for all the fun times we've had together and I hope you'll visit the boards regularly!

For now, I have returned to my roots in Asheron's Call - Solclaim.  Those of you who didn't meet me until my AC2 or Horizons days, my characters' names are 'The Rebirth of Gyes', 'Gyes the Ballistician', and 'June the Intrepid'.  I've already seen Ashar there and I'd be delighted if I saw a couple other familiar faces too!  I plan to stay in AC for some time - none of the games soon-to-be-released really appeal to me.  I am interested in Middle-Earth Online and Dungeons and Dragons Online, but neither of those have even entered beta testing yet.

As for the guild in Horizons, Ashar and Etrican are now at the helm.  I leave things in their capable hands.

I'm back now!  It's been a busy month for me, but my time is beginning to free up again.  Look for more updates on the site soon!  June will be back in Istaria far more often these coming days too.

This Saturday is our monthly meeting - first in a couple months!  Better late than never, I suppose.  Please try to attend - 3 PM ET, Saturday afternoon.

Archived the May news, small though it was.
