During the rise of Martine and the Elementals, Queen Elysa placed garrisons in the remaining Starter Towns to protect them. Martine's forces sought to subvert them and thanks to fellow adventurers like us, the Royal Guards stopped an attempt on the Queen's son's life.
*You can start this quest in any of the Starter Towns, but you will always go from Shoushi to Yaraq to Holtburg. I usually start in Yaraq for no reason in particular. The reward you get depends on how many sections of the quest you've completed, not which town you visit. Last, but not least, take a small group. The time to complete the quest increases dramatically for each person on the quest.*
Step 1 - Yaraq's Dark Secret. Head to Yaraq and run NNE from town to the Advocate Tower at 21.0S, 0.8W. Greet Dame Tsaya and she will direct you to check up on a newcomer to Yaraq, who lives in the house to the south of town. Head to 23.7S, 2.8W and greet the Stranger in Town. He'll ask you to go to the Darkened Halls, but stop back with Dame Tsaya before you go in. Greet her again and head to Darkened Halls at 20.7S, 0.7E. From the drop, take the first right and head down the ramp. Now you'll go straight through the first door you see and you'll head down another ramp. The environment will change into a Virindi dungeon and you'll find Hollow Minions from this point on. Follow the path and you will come to a large room with a human caught in a strange device. Kill the Hollows and check the corpses for a key and a note. Pick up the key (the note isn't necessary to proceed) and unlock the chest by the strange device. Pick up the Human Husk inside. Each person in your group will need to pick up a Husk. After you are done, head back to Dame Tsaya and give her the Husk. She will give you 3 Wood Hearts, 5000 XP, and a Note to take to Holtburg.
Step 2 - Holtburg's New Residents. Give your note from Dame Tsaya to Sir Rylanan who lives in the Advocate Tower at 41.6N, 34.2E. He will ask you to investigate some more new arrivals living at 42.8N, 29.5E. Greet the Bandit outside and then check out his basement where you'll find several Hollow Minions! Kill them and check their corpses for a note. This note everyone will actually need, so camp out until everyone has their note. Portal recall back and give Sir Rylanan the note. Now head to Asugar Temple at 45.1N, 30.4E. This dungeon is filled with Banderlings and Hollows. The dungeon itself is fairly linear. There will be several bridges inside the dungeon. Every time you see one, jump down to the level below. The first jump will take you into a room with a staircase to the south - take that exit. You will follow a path to a T intersection. Take a right and you will quickly come to another T. Either way you choose is fine, as you will almost immediately come to a bridge for you to jump off. Once you land, head to the east to reach the final room. The room will have many hollows gathered around a large portal-filled pillar. Again, one of the Hollows will drop a key that everyone will need. Use the key on the chest in the far corner of the last room and pick up the Glass Spherule inside. Once everyone has the Spherule, Portal Recall back to Sir Rylanan, and give him the Spherule. He will give you 3 Copper Hearts, 10,000 XP, and a Note to take to Shoushi.
Step 3 - Shoushi's Traitor. Head to the Advocate Tower at 32.8S, 73.3E and give your note to Sir Tenshin. He will ask you to check up on a Farmer to the south of town. Run south to 37.4S, 75.5E where you'll find a farmhouse. There's a trap door in the back of the building - use it and you will be teleported into the basement of the farmhouse. Inside you will find a candle that you can use to slide the Fireplace away, revealing a secret passage. Head down it, kill the couple rats, and you'll find a big chest filled with Royal Guard uniforms. Everyone should take one and then head back to Sir Tenshin. Give him the Uniform and he will give you 3 Obsidian Hearts, 15,000 XP, and a note to take back to Dame Tsaya. Quickly head back to Yaraq and give her the note. She will give you a key and you will now be flagged to enter the 'Underground Passage' portal in any of the Advocate Towers.
Step 4 - Underground Passage. The Underground Passage drops you in the middle of Wiltshire Dungeon. Inside you will find Rats, Skeletons, and Hollow Minions at the top. You will find yourself in the middle of what looks like a prison when you arrive. To navigate through this dungeon, all you have to do is ignore all the little side rooms and run straight down the corridors ahead of you. You will go up two ramps before you reach the top level. When you see your first hollow minion, go into the room where he is and follow the path. Ignore the first turn to the right and take the second to enter a large room. There is an exit portal at the top, which will drop you inside Fort Wiltshire. The fort has been taken over by Martine's forces! Kill the spawn and use the key Dame Tsaya gave you to open the door to the house in the middle of the floor. Inside the house is another trap door. Use it and enter the final dungeon.
Step 5 - Hall of Hollows. You will find yourself inside the Hall of Hollows, most likely half-surrounded by Hollows and Martinate Simulacra. This dungeon is fairly simple as well. There are some maze sections, but so long as you remember to head north and down, you will make it to the end without any difficulty. In the final room, you will find several Hollows, Simulacra, and Dranith Menacet. Kill him and check his corpse for a note. Again, each person will need a copy of the note. Once everyone has their notes, return to one of the Starter Towns and give the note to one of the Guards. They will reward you with 2 SIKs and a special ring called Elysa's Favor. The ring casts Life Giver and one of four cantrips - minor strength, endurance, focus, or armor.
